Summer 1 - Greetings and Welcome - Action
[ It's a mild sunny day when the first group of guests make land at Norrhamn. A gentle breeze rustle the birch trees and tangle in the bunting that's hung across the buildings in celebration of this very special occasion. Aina has been busy gathering up guests over the last few hours and now the ferry is approaching the port, waves breaking gently against the bow.
Olivia is waiting on the jetty, clipboard hugged close to her body. She's excited and nervous all at once, anxious to get to meet these people that she's read so much about, the faces behind the pleading letters. This is the first day her new job becomes hands on. Hopefully she'll be good at it.
As the ferry lands and lets the guests off, Olivia raises a hand in a cheerful greeting. ]

Hello! Welcome to Norrhamn!

[Lisa had been inclined to sleep on the ferry; if they were picking up more passengers than just her, it'd be a bit of a trip. But she'd gotten to talking, as she tended to, and while she wouldn't quite say she'd made friends, it'd been fun, and she felt awake despite being in one place for a little while. So when the ferry docks, she steps outside and takes a deep breath of fresh air, actually feeling like she's on vacation despite everything, even as she reflexively bends her knees to make sure the bass slung over her shoulder doesn't clip the door.
This place feels a little foreign to her sensibilities, but she could get used to it. And the lady waving is probably the reason she's here seeing it at all; she smiles, pushing the tiny knot of nervous energy off to the side. Setting suitcase and bass aside for a moment in a safe place, she steps a bit closer.]
Hello! Um, I'm Lisa. Thank you, ma'am! It's... I'm not sure what I was expecting, but this looks like a tranquil place.
[She looks like she's trying hard to make a good impression. She just got here, it'd be terrible to be sent back now. Once she finishes talking to Olivia, she'll hang out for a bit longer, taking in the sights and letting herself unwind a bit.]
[B | open | Pike Cabin]
[It's a little bit later by the time Lisa reaches her cabin. That's taking her a moment to process in and of itself, given she's used to just having her own room, but it shouldn't be too bad! If she can manage time with her various and unique band members, she can manage a roommate. Probably.
Popping the door open and leaving it that way, she sets her things down and proceeds to check on her bass before anything else - it may be the most important thing she owns. It seems fine, and after a second, she nods to herself and starts to tune it. Without an amplifier it's probably hard to hear, but she takes a few minutes to get it tuned and play a few notes just to reassure herself. It's not a standout instrument, but that's okay. Roselia needs it - needs her - all the same.
As she plays, she's not so focused that she isn't watching the door, but it'll take her a second to manage conversation. More so if she finds herself humming of her vocal parts. Or actually singing it. Both are at least slightly likely.]

It's only when he's practically in the doorway that he realizes he's being pretty rude, and...honestly seeming a little creepy.
He clears his throat gently to announce his presence. Then, after a moment, he adds:]

[The boat is quiet as it rocks in the water -- as if voices, laughter, and conversations are muted somewhat by the ocean waves lapping at the boat. It's...a little surreal. Not the quiet, but the peace settling all around them. All the same, Noel feels like he's holding his breath, like he's waiting for reality to sink in. For a shadow at his back to catch up with him. And yet...and yet.
It's fine. He tells himself it's fine.
A woman meets them at the docks, and without meaning to he instantly sizes her up. Realizing he's doing it, his stomach turns a bit, and he glances around, studying their surroundings to avoid eye contact.]
... It really is beautiful out here.
[He sounds a little surprised. It's almost enough to make him let his guard down -- almost, but not quite.]
b.
[Noel didn't bring much stuff with him, so it doesn't take long to toss the half-filled bag on his bed and go out for a look around. The general store is particularly interesting, with its selection of clothes, foods, and equipment. A faint half-smile crosses his face as he lays eyes on the vests and oars. There had been a time, in the last world he visited, where they were planning to build a boat, to explore with. Maybe he'll get that boat trip after all.
Later, he makes his way to the community center. The lack of kitchen staff is a little suspicious --but then, to him, everything is suspicious-- but he doesn't dwell on it long, distracted by the nearby garden. That's where you'll find him for a decent part of the afternoon, admiring the plants.]
Fruit trees. Huh. [He doesn't pick the fruit, but he does slide a finger over a few of the leaves.] Someone's been taking good care of you.
[Is...is he talking to that tree? Yeah. He is. Listen, give him a break, he went through a phase where he was a tree for a while.]
b.
Got a bit of a thing for trees? [Despite the faint tease, his voice is warm - and completely nonjudgmental. In fact, it turns downright wistful.] Got to know a very nice tree myself, a long time ago! Sexy as hell, all smooth bark and sumptuous bulges in all the right places. And a voice that'd make grown men fall right at her feet...

except he's not exactly prepared to find someone talking to a tree.
that seems like … no, it doesn't really seem like anything anyone in his team would do, except maybe allura, and that stems all the way back to her connection with the balmera — but that isn't the point, here. there is a guy talking to a tree and for whatever reason he needs to comment on it, not only because he rarely finds a reason to fill the silence with anything other than silence. ) Think it's gonna say anything back?

To be fair, having the Webley is more of a comfort thing than something he actually needs. He's had it a long, long time.
1. He's stayed rather uncharacteristically quiet on the ferry. He's just lost two people who'd become very dear to him and he's not at his flirtatious best (or worst, depending how you look at it). In fact, he's spent a lot of the journey gazing out of the window at nothing, lost in contemplation.
When the ferry finally docks, however, he rouses from his reverie – and takes a deep breath of the fresh sea air as he steps out onto the quay. The scent of the sea immediately reminds him of Cardiff and his head goes up, a faint smile finally starting to spread across his lips as he look around at his fellow travellers disembarking.
This little vacation might just turn out to be exactly what he needs.
2. He finds his room in Moose cabin and spends a few minutes just taking in the view of the sea. Then another few trying out the size, height and comfort of the bed. Then he hangs up his coat and wanders downstairs to check out the communal area. He's not particularly interested in the kitchen since he is not a cook, though he's pleased to see there's a decent-looking coffee maker. He can't do anything in the mornings without his first cup of coffee!
3. Later, he goes for a wander along the cliff-top, enjoying the play of light on the water, listening to the sounds of the waves and seagulls, breathing in the smell of salt and seaweed. He's still got a lot on his mind, but already he's starting to feel a little more at peace.
Scenario 3
It had been easy enough avoiding him in the hullabaloo of the disembarking and general room finding. Of course, sooner or later, she would run into him. In this case, as she made her way up towards the cliffs. Martha was tossing pebbles off the cliff, and didn't notice him til she was too close to creep away.
She found an easy enough smile for him as she called out. "Fancy meeting you here!"
Aww, poor Martha - he's sorry for intruding on her holiday! :-D
Oh she'll live.

Martha shouldered her duffle as she stepped off the ferry. "Oh excuse me!" she remarked as she sidestepped someone else's luggage. "Anything I can help you with?" Regardless of how low she'd felt upon leaving, just the thought of being here lifted the weight from her shoulders. It was easy for Martha to smile at everyone else on the dock.
[ B | open | cloudberry cabin ]
Well, this was cozy. Martha looked around. She claimed a room and tucked her few items of clothing into the drawers. The shared bathroom would be interesting. She left only her toothbrush and toothpaste there so as to not take up valuable counter space. It was a nice little cabin though. She was looking forward to her time here.

Hana Song | ota
[ Hana looks pretty banged up on her arrival. She has a crutch under each arm and a leg in a cast that she's alternating between hobbling on and lifting straight off the ground to swing herself. But she's doing her best to look inconspicuous despite this, with a pair of dark sunglasses and a baseball cap pulled down to shield her face, just in case she's been had and the media's here to snap her photo.
She scans the boardwalk and reads the sign indicating that the community center's not far away. She moves forward, right into someone's path. The sunglasses are sort of blocking her peripheral vision. ]
Whoa! Sorry.
{ii. the cabins }
[ It's going to be a struggle to haul herself up those stairs to her bedroom in Lingonberry cabin, so for now, Hana takes a breather out on the cabin porch, watching others filter in towards theirs. When she was encouraged to write her letter, she hadn't bothered to think about how widespread the island would be. Sure, there's a bus, but it looks like walking's the preferred method of travel. Too bad she couldn't bring a hoverbike.
Seeing people walk by, she waves from her chair. ]
Heya! Have you been here awhile, or new too?
ii
Hi! Yeah, I'm new too. [A brief pause.] Would it be too much to ask what happened? You don't have to tell me! But I'm curious. That's a heavy-duty cast.

docks –
[ he thinks he's hallucinating for a second. it is almost as if the adrenaline rush after the battle has stayed with him long after they have left the castle of lions behind, left lotor behind, left everything –
it isn't like keith to lose that focus so quickly, almost stumbling as he leaves the ferry behind, barely acknowledging the greeter ( rude, keith ). he had agreed to this vacation, he asked for this vacation because so much has happened and he has barely had enough time to process it, simply barreling forward because they had a job to do. there is still more to do but he can breathe here.
as he chases after that familiar figure in the distance, he can't help but notice has fresh the air feels in his lungs, that he had almost forgotten what a breeze like this felt like. ]

[ he's hungry. you get really hungry, you know, after you've been fighting in an epic space battle that nearly destroys you and your teammates. for a second, his eyes are bigger than his stomach and orders what seems like a bit too much for a wiry boy like this one. ( trust us – he needs all of it. )
the food is familiar yet not, definitely earth-based or at least what he remembers of it. he wishes hunk were here to talk him through some of that. it does smell good though.
what strikes him as strange – or at least stranger than anything else he has experienced so far – is that there is no one serving. no one behind counters, no clanking of pots and pans that he can hear anyway. he looks up at the plate and calls, ] Uh. Hello?
the beach ( ota )
[ the walk isn't that bad. there is more room here, it feels like, and it's a nice change from the day to day during his two-year stint with his estranged mother in a time warp. keith enters through the brush and pushes aside a branch to find the beach.
it's a different kind of peace that he hasn't felt in quite some time. it's hard not to remain on edge when you've been running or fighting, but he tries, inhaling again as he did on the dock, even closing his eyes once in a while to listen to the waves gently lapping on the shore. you're welcome to interrupt his thoughts, even if he doesn't look the friendliest.
or you can find him investigating the log structures, poking in and out and not learning much about the area, just finding supplies for swimming or other oceanside activities. ] They've thought of everything, [ he mumbles to himself, unfolding his hands from over his grey t-shirt. however, something does catch his eye. ] Huh.

and maybe that meant he could eat, too?
but as soon as he walks inside the kitchen, the smell of all the different dishes turn his stomach, and he very nearly misses the presence of another person there. ]

She was almost taken aback by how... bright everything was. Viola may not look it, but she's seen good sunlight and bright, beautiful avenues... just not all that often. It had been especially gloomy when someone had unleashed a curse across her and her home. Learning the truth of who started it was probably more painful than the actual experience of the curse. As a result, she's often shielding her eyes from the sun even when not entirely necessary. "Gosh, maybe I should have dressed a little lighter." She was in fact, in a dark, gothic dress, albeit one that only reached her knees. "I would roast to death before I could even get settled in!" At least she understood that darker clothes soaked in more sunlight. "Guess I'll need to get in something lighter."
Her bag consisted of a few changes of clothes, and a sewing kit. She didn't have everything, but it would be enough for simpler things. It was light enough that anyone greeting her would be met with easygoing kindness in turn. "Hello yourself. Are you doing alright?"
[B | Wolf Cabin | Open]
Wolf Cabin was... decidedly un-wolf-like in her opinion. But she imagined that this was supposed to be an easygoing, bright place like the rest of the cabins. Couldn't it have been just a little... darker? Maybe some intimidating wolf statues, perhaps? Viola wished she had a little more know-how with decorating. But this was really no time to get wrapped up in details like that, this was a vacation. Let things be a little different!
Viola unpacked most of her things, hung up her clothes, set her sewing kit on the provided desk and headed back out. Supposedly, this was a place where... all sorts of people could gather, but would it be okay for her to reveal her true self? Granted, it was more of a change in limbs and she was not anything like those poor werewolves or even bigger monsters, but most humans couldn't summarily change their arms to wings and fly.
But she figured if she didn't make any sudden attacks on anyone, she'd be fine. Shedding her heels as to not ruin them, she let her body shift. Her arms grew into a magnificent black wing span. Her legs grew dark gray and scaly, feet becoming talons. The raven girl, now transformed, hopped out of her window, making a strong flap of her wings to propel herself up and backward, and took a seat on the roof, to get a good view of things. "Ah... Not a bad view." Being able to stretch her wings fully like this felt great.
But lo and behold, just as soon as she started looking, someone had made some noise just below her, and apparently had seen her dive out. "Oh! I didn't scare you, did I?"
