Summer 20 | Action | Closed to Ianto
Having broken his self-imposed isolation yesterday by welcoming the newcomers and attending - and enjoying, mostly - the crayfish party, Jack decides it's time to spend some time with Ianto that (hopefully) won't end up quite as intense and harrowing as the last time. Not that there weren't some really fantastic parts to that day, but Ianto really does deserve to be taken out and given a nice time in return for being so sweet and wonderful.
He'd been thinking of the beach, but it's not really the weather for sunbathing so he has something else in mind when he turns up at Granite Cabin late morning with a picnic basket over his arm and knocks smartly on the door.
((OOC note: thread contains sex and spanking later on))

"Hang on there for a moment," he says, leaving Ianto to the cliff and splashing into the water to drag the boat as far up the beach as he can, so Ianto will have less water to wade through. Then he goes back to Ianto and pulls Ianto's arm round his shoulders. "Okay, come on, then." And he manoeuvres Ianto somehow into the boat. It's not neat or graceful or even particularly dry, but it does get him in. He tosses Ianto's shoes in too and then clambers in himself, pushes off from shore and gets rowing.
Fast, to try and get back to the dock before Ianto starts really feeling it.

“I’m fine, Jack. You don’t need to worry so much.” True enough in this moment although maybe not so much in a bit.

"Come on, let's get you somewhere more comfortable!"
no subject
“Promise?” He could go for some pampering just about now.

"I have a very comfortable bed, we have food and drink, and we don't need to go anywhere for the rest of the day. We could even get you in the bath if you want, once you've rested a bit - depending on whether anyone else is home. The bathroom is a bit of a trek from my room!"
He got used to sharing a bathroom on Saavi and Taiana's ship - it wasn't big enough to merit en-suites for every cabin - but that had been a bit different since they'd all been sleeping with each other and used to seeing each other nude or barely dressed. He's had to make quite an adjustment living here, remembering to put clothes on to slip out to the bathroom!

Not letting that one go for a while, even if it really didn't bother him that much.
He lets them into Moose Cabin and hangs his coat up at the door. "All right, bath first, then. Or would a shower upstairs be easier?"

"Come on then," he says and helps him up the stairs as fast as he can, before he seizes up completely, and then into the upstairs bathroom. "Right, hold onto the basin and let me get those clothes off you."
((OOC: And let's pretend we both remembered they weren't wearing their shoes/boots and were carrying them too!))

He helps tug his clothes off clumsily with Jack’s assistance, fingers clenched tightly on the sink for balance. He’s hurting now, there’s no denying it but they both know how stubborn he can be, and right now he’s using all of that to keep from admitting it. “Thanks.”

"Oh, you look amazing," he smiles, leaning in to give him a quick kiss before heading off to get the water running and warming up. He strips off his own clothes while he waits. And then remembers this is a shared bathroom which they've have to clear up when they leave it, and gets all their clothes into a big pile that'll be easy to take with them.
"All right, water's ready, let's get clean!"

"Okay, quick clean up and then off to bed for the rest of the day," he smiles, handing Ianto the sponge to get himself clean while he gets his head under the water to wash the sand out of his hair.
no subject
“What was that you were saying about bed?” He manages, giving up on the sponge and letting the running water do what it can on it’s own to rinse him off.

Then he presses a wet kiss against Ianto's temple, shuts off the water and guides him out of the shower, grabbing a towel and wrapping it comfortingly around him. "Hold on for me for a moment," he murmurs, grabbing another towel for himself and disappearing under it for half a minute while he gets the worst of the water out of his hair. Then he wraps it round his waist and holds out his arms for Ianto. "Come on, then, let's get you to bed."

"Hold onto the dresser for a moment," he instructs gently, making sure he's steady before letting him go so he can strip the covers back, because if Ianto's crashing he's going to want the warmth of the duvet. Then he comes back to Ianto and with a smile guides him up onto the bed, relieved for once that this bed is not quite as high as he might have chosen for himself - i.e. a bit low for bending over, but much easier for helping a crashing sub crawl onto.
He gets Ianto settled and tucked in, with the towel still around him to catch the worst of the water and then duvet over the top for comfort and warmth, and lands a kiss on his hair. "Stay there just one minute while I go and grab our clothes, and then we will cuddle for as long as you need," he promises, and disappears out the door.

As much as he may have enjoyed the activity itself he feels as though they’ve very much skipped over the aftermath of it. He’s not even sure what he wants now but he knows they need to talk about things. He feels so strung out and emotionally exhausted that he can’t even look forward to the cuddling part of it all.

"Hey," he says gently, not liking the way Ianto's looking. "Can you drink some of this for me? And then eat a bit of chocolate?"
no subject
“I think we need to slow things down,” He says quietly, nibbling tentatively on the chocolate and too far gone to approach the conversation with the tact he usually would. “I can’t keep letting myself get carried away by you like this. It isn’t good for either of us.”
no subject
Breaking off a bit more chocolate and offering it to him hopefully. He really wants to get Ianto's sugar levels back up to normal before they attempt any kind of discussion about how badly he's fucked up over this.

“I feel like I’ve forgotten how to deal with you, that’s all. You’re more overwhelming than you know. It makes you hard to resist, and I let you push me farther than I should have.” He doesn’t have any intention of stopping their relationship. But he’s hurting and crashing badly just now and he shouldn’t have agreed to do this somewhere so far away from the flsafety and comfort of a bed. He’s only just now starting to feel how much that walk took out of him and the results aren’t pleasant.

It helps that at least Ianto's not being accusatory about it, and that his love and trust are still coming through strong. Even though it's that love and trust that have got them to this stage right now.
"I don't mean to be overwhelming," he says weakly, remembering Spike saying the same thing a lot in the early days of their relationship. "I just - I like chasing extremes, you know? And you... look, I'm not blaming you, okay? But when you push for more I find it really hard to deny you. I want to give you everything, Ianto. I want to share so much with you."

Right now, though, he's extremely grateful that Ianto is showing the more normal signs of wanting physical comfort, and it's a relief to take the water bottle from him (taking a swig himself because he's had quite a lot of exertion too) and set it down on the bedside table, and then turn in towards Ianto and pull him into his arms, careful and protective. "We'll work it out, all right?" he promises, whispering into Ianto's hair. "Right now, I just want to hold you for a bit, make sure you're okay." He strokes up and down Ianto's arm, soothingly. "We'll make it work."
He's not sure which of them he's trying to convince more.
