summer 10 - open library prompts & closed hyunseok prompt.
a. LIBRARY - BEFORE LATER
[ When Haein isn't holed up in his room, he's usually posted in some corner of the library with his nose in a book. He'd first visited the library with the intent to keep his mind sharp now that he was missing his usual college classes, but it hadn't taken long to discover that there was a troubling scarcity of non-fiction books.
It means picking up fiction books and hoping for the best, but honestly he's just been disappointed over and over again. A few premises catch his attention, and then he gets a chapter or three in and it's like he can't care to continue reading.
A particularly upsetting book (upsetting in that it's boring him to death) gets the unfortunate and rude treatment of Haein chucking it over his shoulder with an annoyed sigh. Good luck to whatever poor soul may be in the trajectory of that airborne book because it's coming in hot and fast.
Hey, at least it's a paperback book. ]
b. LIBRARY - LATER
[ Everyone knows that one romantic scene in media where two people reach for something at the same time and then it's like boom, here's where it all starts, right?
Well, this is kind of like that, with two people reaching for the same book, fingers brushing up against each other.
And then this is usually the part where eyes meet and hearts flutter, some charming person on the other end with promises of cheesy romance somewhere down the line. Only, this is nothing like that. It's just Haein glaring. To be fair, he'd probably look nice if he didn't look like he was two seconds away from committing murder for this book. ]
c. COMMUNITY CENTRE - LATER LATER
[ Having spent enough time at the library, Haein is now leaving the community center. Maybe run into him on the way out. Maybe actually run into him on the way out, physically colliding and all, because he's not paying attention to where he's going. ]
d. CLOSED TO HYUNSEOK
[ It's been more than a week since Haein had spoken to Hyunseok, which had not been plenty of time to cool off and let his anger dissipate. Oh no, Haein's temper is never ending, but on a kind of bright side, he's not as mad as he was before.
So wherever Hyunseok is, whatever he's doing, he might feel a pair of eyes on him. Look, this isn't easy for Haein... but he kind of feels strange that they're here on this island together and not on speaking terms (because of Haein but who's keeping track?). So he's mustering up both the courage and the will to say something first.
Right now, though, he's just watching Hyunseok with his usual scowl (which is probably permanent at this point) from a safe distance, waiting for an opening. ]

Not to me, no.
[ At least he's honest. He slips the book he's holding back on the shelf, disinterest clear on his face. ]
Are you expecting an apology out of me?
no subject
[Sheesh. What a jerk. Forget Sayo, she needs Moca to deal with this. But she doesn't have her, either, so Lisa is going to have to deal.]
Are you going to keep throwing things? I can leave, but I'd rather not.
no subject
There's a stretch of silence on his end for a good few seconds before he shakes his head and turns away from her to go back to scoping out the shelves. ]
I'm not going to throw anything else.
[ He says it like it physically pains him not to be all spiteful and defensive anymore. ]
no subject
She sighs heavily, shaking her head slightly. Her tone is a little cold, but serviceable.]
Then I'm going to leave you to it, unless you need something from me.
[Lisa settles back into the chair with a rustle before letting herself fall silent. She's lost in thought for a few moments before she gets back to her book; her posture isn't quite as open and for the moment she's on guard for small sounds, in case that statement wasn't entirely truthful.]
no subject
But okay, back to looking through all these books. It might be a bit distracting, all the noise coming from his side as he shuffles things around and flips through pages. Thankfully it doesn't last for too long. An exasperated exhale later he's making his way over to where Lisa sits to retrieve the book he'd tossed.
He's not completely mannerless. Maybe. ]
How are you finding anything to read in this place?
[ It's a lot awkward, his attempt at conversation. But he might genuinely want to know. ]
no subject
Well, I asked - I didn't really know what I was looking for, though, so I took a recommendation.
no subject
Alright, asking for a recommendation. He could do that, right? Except that would mean talking to another person and does he really have to do that when he's already made all the effort of talking to this random girl??
Wait. Maybe she'll know something. ]
... Do you have recommendations?
no subject
Not many. I only have a few ideas for fiction books, and several of those are going to be kind of sappy... I mean, if you want them, sure, but.
[-but if you got mad at the books before because you couldn't find anything, that's probably not what you're looking for, she thinks but doesn't say. Still, there's a small stack on the carpet next to her, so maybe that's worth something?]
no subject
Oh. [ Makes a face. He's not a fan of sappy. He does notice that stack of books, though. ] Are these books you plan on reading?
