Summer 10 - newcomer mingle

[ It's late morning when the ferry comes around, landing on the jetty and letting off a small but valued group of new arrivals. Olivia is out there, greeting and handing out information packets.

Later in the afternoon, there's a small welcome party set up at the community center. The tables are laden with cinnamon buns, elderflower lemonade, fresh strawberries and an assortment of small cookies and other treats. There's also thirium lovingly set up to the side of the buffet, for the android population. Ingvar shows up a little later with his accordion, setting the mood with some traditional folk songs like he's wont to do. ]

What are you talking about? [ This is what Zelgadis needs in his life: a loud girl pointing and asking accusatory questions in his general direction. He lets the lily pad drop back into the bowl of water and stands up straight, folding his arms at her. ] I'm not "with" anyone. Don't barge into people's rooms uninvited.

[Well, the fact that he's so chill diffuses her immediate panic, at least. It also leaves her at a loss for a moment, making her feel a little...err. Defensive.]

I was just trying to find an open room. It's not like the doors are labeled or anything.

This one isn't. Have you considered knocking?

[ Knowing that two of the other three rooms are also taken, Zelgadis hopes he can spare his cabinmates from a future intrusion. It's been so peaceful in Lingonberry Cabin that he can't stand the thought of an unwelcome disturbance. ]

[Zel at least is chill enough that she feels more embarrassed than anything, and while she sort of side-eyes at his suggestion, she doesn't respond with much of an attitude.]

Fine, fine. I should have knocked. Sorry.

[I mean, more of an attitude than usual.]

[ He lets out a long-suffering sigh. ]

Are you sure you're in the right cabin to begin with? The other people who live in this cabin are all men. [ It's not that he's particularly opposed to a co-ed cabin since they have private rooms and all, but this is breaking with a pattern he's already gotten used to. ]
