He... really had expected Ianto to understand that. He'd expected frustration with his errant ways - long-suffering acceptance at best - but not genuine understanding, and even though Ianto doesn't say it out loud, he can see it in his face. He studies Ianto a little more closely, giving him a tiny, rueful smile.
